This illustrated story has been designed for bilingual children and others wishing to read a parallel text in English and Spanish. For ease of understanding, the languages are displayed together just one or two sentences at a time.
The aim was to make translation as direct as possible but always using everyday language of native speakers.

Excerpt from the story—

The Pansy sisters lived in a yellow flowerpot under the big apple tree. They shared the pot with Basil, Rosemary, and Mouse.
Las hermanas pensamiento vivían en una maceta amarilla bajo el gran manzano. Compartían la maceta con Albahaca, Romera y Ratón.

The summer was very hot and the plants all agreed how nice it was to live under the big shady apple tree.
“It is so nice to live under a shady apple tree,” said Basil.
El verano era muy caluroso y todas las plantas estuvieron de acuerdo en lo agradable que era vivir a la sombra de un manzano.
“Es tan gradable vivir a la sombra de un manzano,” dijo Albahaca.
